How many languages do you speak?

English. Would not go hungry or fail to find a bathroom in German, French and Spanish. Understand a bit of Japanese and probably would survive in Japan. Understand plenty of chicken, duck and goose. Also, being a dog kahuna, I understand dog communication very well. Being an Audubon-level birder, I also understand much wild bird communication!
I believe in learning foreign languages!!!

I second that notion! :D

I speak English, as least as it is called that here in the states, I have some British friends that may argue we don't do the language justice, lol. I had Spanish and latin in school, but that was sooo long ago. Not much stuck with me, I don't think I would fare well if I had to speak it now. I know one phrase in chicken." Did you bring me some mealworms?"

Careful on the inflection on that one. "Bawwwwk?" is "did you bring me some mealworms?", but "Bawwwwk!" is "You better have those worms or I'll cut you!"

I took 1 year of German, 4 years of Spanish, 1 year of Japanese, but can barely speak or understand any of that after all these years, plus I understand conversational Taiwanese.

Shamefully my mother and sibling are fluently tri-lingual.

English, and i did take like 4 or 5 years of french in school. (from like grade 4-8) have no idea how i passed the class as i know nothing about it.
