digitS' table of feed amounts did say for Leghorn type chickens.

With my heavy breeds, my feed consumption is right at about double those figures.

Mine freerange for much of the day, and they eat *much* less. I don't think they like the organic feed I get. I go through one 50 lb bag of layer pellets in just under a month. 14 chickens. Lots of scraps, too, and few handfuls of black oil sunflower seeds every morning.

My eggs taste great.
