How many more chickens can I get in my coop?

This is a hot topic with many opinions. Experimenting from 2sf to 4sf per bird inside an enclose coop (with pop door to a good size run), I found that the birds do survive fine at 2 sf but not thriving. So the more space the better. At more than 4 sf it seems to be wasteful, though the birds would not mind.

I plan on free ranging for a hour or two each day mabye more depends if my cats get along with them

you need approximately 2-3 1/2 foot of space for each bird
