Hi there, just wondered if there are any musicians amongst the ranks here, seems to go with the outdoors and nature, I play the guitar and own a snare drum. I'm not very good at it , but I love it, there's something about creating your own music, that is second to none, although I'm certain that anyone actually listening to me play would differ with that comment.

If you would like to listen to my efforts feel free, I might not always be in tune or have the chords quite right, but thats not the point, I love it.

- An Elvis cover of Maries the Name,...

- Tender( Blur) cover

I'm hard to embarass luckily, enjoy.

well I have a couple guitars, but don't play often. though my fingernails are short on left hand and long on right from just recently playing The Times they are a Changin' covered by Pearl Jam. but its like riding a bike, sorta. instead of your butt getting sore its your fingers.

I also have some harmonicas, an accordian thats too big for me, but i taught myself and could play a song or two, one was creep by radiohead - on accordian ha. gotta learn the office jingle. as dwight. haha.

oh I also have a bass for when I don't feel like cutting my nails. uhh i like to try everything. a friend just got a banjo. You can stink and still sound good on a banjo!

once in a while I could play good - the muse musta stirred me. I enjoyed learning zep tunes and half songs like the run in black dog etc. oh and i learned the mandolin parts

but even not playing - i have a deep appreciation for all things music and can like a wide variety.

just saw Kings Of Leon in philly great show. dont get me started on concerts tho....

I do a lot of singing. Quartets... some solos. Played trumpet as a kid, can play a little piano.

I appreciate real talent.

I play piano - Not as much as I would like because of my schedule. I play keyborad for our Men's Retreats. Fill in for our church's organist when needed. Other than that, I play for fun. Mostly all Contemporary Christian music. I also sing on our Church's priase band, again Contemporary Christian Music.

I started playing piano when I was 6 and still continue to this day. I took lessons right through high school. I love to play as a way to relax after a lopng day. I play for our church at masses and communions, confirmations, and weddings, my favorite thing to do.

Now my son, who will be 3 in June, is trying to learn. He will actually sit to learn and is starting to pick up some of it. Fun to see a love of music passed on. My DH played saxophone in HS, so music is on both sides.

well not really to much of a musician now, but in high school played clarinet, trumpet, and sousaphone (marching tuba) have't touched the things since then though.

DH just picked up a bass guitar at antique store for $30 and wants to learn to play, he has gotten about 3 songs down as of right now, but I know how he is so it will be a month or so and then he will get bored, but for $30 you can not go wrong especially since we believe it is a fender precision bass (no markings but if it is a fake we have been told it is one of the best, someone had striped it down to possible refinish it since it has no finish at all just bare wood)

my 7 year old also is learning to play guitar, her teacher says she has the long fingers to play some hard chords, she likes playing it especially since Santa brought her the Hannah Montana guitar she so despritely wanted (thanks grandma and grandpa) but she is learning quickly.

Our 6 year old wants to pick guitar to, and he plays at a friends house and seems like he may be pretty good just from listen to him strum the strings, (can anyone say group discount...lol, at least the teacher is a good friend of ours)

I started piano lessons when I was 8. I hated it.

At 9 though I started playing for the school Christmas programs. That is what got me to practice. Then about age twelve when contemporary Christian was just starting out-like way back in the 70's I was hooked. I would tape record stuff and go out into the woods to sing along. I would then buy any available Christian music I could. This is kind of funny now but I was not allowed to sing the contemporary music at church it was viewed as rebelious. I spent the last 18 years or so playing at that same church-only now I'm considered one of the old fogies.

I am probably more known for my singing than piano ability but doing them at the same time is the gift I've been given and I'll never stop. I too am on the worship team along with my husband. He likes to sing too, so this past Sunday we did a duet!
