How many nest boxes?

I just built a small coop/run. I have five hens and am wondering how many nest boxes I need. Do I need one for each hen, or will a couple be OK since they won't all be laying at the same time?

I have heard 1 nesting box per 6 hens is sufficient. You may want to do a search for nesting boxes and read some of the previous posts about nesting boxes. Good Luck!

I'd do two or more, since most folks' flocks tend to grow larger over time.

I have 8 hens that ar elaying and they usually all lay in the same box!
