DH & I own an office building. Our occupancy rates are always in flux. We might lose a few very-small busineses when people decide to take their business into their home. When those shifts occur, we gain larger businesses that move into "medium" units. Right now, things are okay, pretty good, not wonderful. There will always be entrepreneurs in this country and they are our bread & butter.

Regarding the Jan. 20th comment: I think that we can attribute things whatever way we want. I, for one, got more calls after the election. I don't know if that was a post-election thing or attributable to the fact that I maintain a level of promotion no-matter-what.

My husband and I own a machine shop. ALthough we live in Michigan where the manufacturing has taken a total dump we still keep busy. He works full time at a regular compnay because of the insurance costs (killer) But otherwise he designs and build fixtures, tooling and special machines. Certain companies keep us busy because my DH is really amazing at what he does. I also breed and show Bernese Mountain dogs on the side...maybe 2 litters a year if I am lucky. I also work part time tutoring at-risk teenagers. So yeah we are busy!!

So true. Which is why some of our competitors are now out of business. Good customer service is a MUST as well as good product etc. in any business. Sorry you had so much trouble, Wifezilla. To bad we no longer live in good old CO.​

Well, I must admit, this thread has turned out to be much more positive than i had imagined it would be....seems us chicken folks are a pretty diverse group with the know how to keep focused and figure out how to keep our heads above water.....here's a link to my site

currently i don't have any pics of my work posted, but they'll get there eventually...

luckily we're only a few minutes from fort riley (the whole reason i ended up in ks) and a few blocks from k state. work in this business always fluctuates from day to day, week to week and month to month, but i try to have enough money put aside for slower times....probably the single most important thing i learned from my father!

Now that i know what some of you guys do, i might be able to throw some business your way....
