How many of you can say...

How many of you can say that you never saw any predators until you got chickens?? We have woods behind our house, I know there has to be raccoons never seen them. Not ever has our trash, yard or animals been messed with. I have had meat in a trash bag next to the the trash cans when they've been too full and they have never been touched either. No scat has been seen ever. I've seen oppossums twice but never in our yard, just on the other side of the creek that runs behind our fence. The only thing that ever came into my yard was a wild turkey that then started to eat the seed below our bird feeder, lol. Am I being dillusional thinking I won't have too much problem with the wildlife here??
How many of you never had a problem until you got the chickens?

I have a problem with cats, but I had that problem long before I got chickens. Predators are just something you need to take into account when you get chickens.

I never had a problem with predators until I got chickens. My dogs guard them now, so I don't have a problem with them anymore, but they got a few free meals from us.

I never had issues with racccons getting to garbage until I got chickens last year.

My nieghbors had issues but they did not mess with me until I got chickens. Problem solved after catching 4 last year. So far it has been quiet this year. However I did notice some fresh tracks in the dew on the grass this morning. I think it might be time to put out the live trap and game camera to see what out there.

I don't have chickens yet, but there is enough road kill to know that I'll certainly be seeing them when I do. If you get a game cam and set it up, you'd be surprised what wanders through in the night.
