How many of you COOK for your chickens???

I have seen a recipe close tot that on a "make your own parrot food" site. I always use up my cornbread mix for myself though! Wonder if you could use the biscuit mix instead...

I give my hens different raw veggies in the winter months. They get greens, broccoli, squash etc. I buy a huge bag of frozen mixed veggies and thaw some out for them. I make them oatmeal with homemade yogurt and apples. I give them what is in season and cheap. Melon in the summer, squash and pumpkin in the fall and frozen veggies in the winter. I never give them anything with fat or sugar or salt in it. Oh, I grow mealworms for them in the winter since they can't get bugs from the frozen yard. Chickens will eat about anything but I try to only give them foods that they will benefit from instead of just something to fill them up.
