How many of you really think it is possible??

I agree with dawg, I think it will be economics driven. When they have to start cutting govt programs as they will surely have to. People will become desperate and do almost anything to take care of their families. Watch the news or read a paper, folks are starting to feel stressed and depressed. I said in an earlier post that folks just are not as humble as they were in the depression era, and wil not except really hard times as they did then. It pays to be prepared for anything that might happen, or at least have a plan that you can put in motion. Something is coming, it may not be as bad as we think, or it may be worse. Who knows?

I don't think so.

Actually, just the other day was saying that everybody says the US is in a terrible situation, but is confused about how there is still food to be bought, people still have places to live, and most don't live in fear of being taken by the police to be interrogated and then murdered.

She doesn't really understand the terrible situation that the US is in... but then again, she grew up in communist China where everything they had was taken, there was no food to buy even if you didn't get killed for having money to buy it with. And then went on to recall the same old story about how her uncle was beaten to death for having a picture of Santa Clause and his niece who was in Canada at the time. They said he was a spy.

NYC sanitation union intentionally jambs up the snow removal, to teach the mayor a lesson, and causes harm to citizens.

Florida law enforcement can draw blood at traffic stops, if you refuse a breathalyzer test.

Look at the TSA intrusion into personal privacy, all in the name of security.

Immenent domain used to destroy old established neighborhoods, just because some corporation promises more taxes to city coffers.

Napolitano encouraging you to start watching your neighbors.

Lawmakers writing and passsing 2,000 page bills, which noone can actually tell what's in them.

The suppression of our personal freedoms is increasing, exponentially, now that government has tasted the power.

Sounds to me like some people need a serious attitude adjustment, to say the least.

I have WHAT in my yard? :

You're right dunk that part is already happening, but you don 't think its possible for there to be a real take to the streets kind of unrest??

No, not really. People will meekly accept the lower standard of living. People that used to work for 20.00 an hour will work for 5.00 an hour. They will live in horrible conditions and accept the fact that people in the lucky sperm club are better than them. Those with money will be able to afford an education and will be able to advance in the few positions left to be had. In other words we will be very similar to countries like India and Pakistan. This will be a slow process. It will take 20 years or so. If it happened within 3 or 4 years we would see rebellion. It is happening now and will continue to get worse. It's been happening since around 1982 or so. .

If they would have just come out in 1980 and said. OK people we are going to drop your standard of living and create conditions to send all your jobs away. We're going to deregulate to the point of monetary collapse for the lower 98%, then yes we would have had a revolution. Instead they did it very slowly. It's been happening for about 30 years now. Give them another 20 years. They will have SS totally dismantled. Any kind of social safety nets will be gone along with most of the jobs. It's not paranoia. Many of those guys are already in office and have stated that stuff as their primary objective.

The sad part is that they will do it all out in the open. People will slit their own throats to help them out.

Nope, no revolution. Just a lot of poverty. JMO but you asked.

You need to save it for when they reenact Prohibition.

You need to change your name from Dunkopf to Doomsayer.

They'll never do that again. The people that would do something like that are mostly drunkards. Not Doomsayer. Soothsayer may be more accurate though.
