I FINALLY figured out how to post pics!!!
I have one parrot right now, and his name is Sammy. He's a 20YO double yellow headed
amazon. I got him in July 1998 when he was 7 years and 4 months old (I found this out later by tracing his leg band to his breeder) from a pet store I used to frequent. He's fully flighted, ridiculously bonded to me (follows me around the house, usually flying but occasionally walking), and is aggressively jealous of anyone who comes near me. As I type this, he's sitting on my ankle while I'm reclining on the couch. He is my second
amazon.
My first, Popeye, was a blue front, and he passed away at the tender age of 5 years after battling some kind of heart infection (three different vets couldn't figure it out, even after a necropsy...all they could do was trace the path of destruction...I keep his ashes with me still). I got Popeye when I was 14, and I brought him with me when I went away to college the first time around. He died during winter break of my freshman year.
After Popeye and before Sammy I also had a pair of dusky conures put together from two former pets who found their way to being adopted by me, but when I realized they wanted to breed, I found them a better place. There was also a pair of senior cockatiels I adopted many many years ago, but they went to live with my grandmother's flock of cockatiels.
ANYWAY, here's my boy, in various pictures I have on my facebook page, which I am posting here. The most recent ones are the nice, clear sharp pics I took with my laptop within the last year and a half. And the weird human in the pics is me.

And again...
The rest are in my room, last winter, when I tried out my new laptop
Yes, I know he's handsome, but keep it down...he's listening, and he's already got a big head about it.
