I'm just putting together my breeding flock. My goal is Lavenders and I'm still working on getting Lavender birds. I have two breeder/show quality roosters with the Lav. gene, a Splash and a Black. I've got two very nice dark blue hens. I showed these four at the fair this year.

I also have several pet quality Silkies in blue, white, calico and cuckoo. I'm thinking about breeding Cuckoos in the future too but Lavenders first.

I set 11 Black/Lavender eggs in the bator on Sunday.

Man, have I got the bug bad.

I have not had any since the insedent last spring but I have 1 doz white silkie and 1 doz white showgirls egs on the way. I am also geting some lavenders from Ideal just as soon as you can order them next year. Then I will buy some nice black ones to improve them with. Then I will get some buffs.

So by next year should be set up for white silkies/showgirls, then I will add buff and lavender into the mix.

I have just started to get into silkies. I have black , blue, and partridge. My black pullet just won BB and BV and my black roo won RB and RV a couple weekends ago.
