Hi everyone. We also breed and show silkies under the name of Brody's Broodello(Brody Miskimon). Our birds have done very well in both Open & Youth shows. We show all over the mid atlantic. What started out as a fun adventure for my son has turned into a something the whole family has been able to enjoy. We can be found at shows from NY,PA,MD,NJ.VA to Ohio. We will be in Lucasville this weekend. Here are a few pictures of some our birds. These are a few of our older hens. They have won several Best of Breeds, Best Featherleg, Champion Bantam, & Overall Grand of Show Champions. Our White Hen Puffy has been featured several times in The Poultry Press. We are showing a little light on the silkies this fall, since most of the hens have been so broody. We are really trying to get some nice hatches instead. I have just set 96 silkie eggs in the GQF. I expect to get some nice chicks from these. We have 59 chicks in the brooders right now. We breed bearded, Whites, Blues, Black,Splash, Blue Partridge, and have had Lavenders popping out lately.

OK here are some pics of Juan our Columbian colored silkie. He was bred by Cathryn Walden, and was a result of a Buff/Lavender cross.

Just goes to show that you never know what you get when you cross colors! I brought him home for my husband as a joke. He had been looking for Columbian Wyandottes for some time, so when I saw Juan I had to buy him. I told my hubby that I had found him a Columbian, we was happy for about 2 seconds. Then he saw him! He was like, WHAT IS THAT!!!! I told him, your new bird! Needless to say, he has gotten his wyandottes since then, and well Juan has been here since then. He really is more of a decoration and a conversation piece when someone comes to the house to see the rest of the flock.
