Sounds like another "chicken math" opportunity!

(Ask me how I know

)
I can relate to your scenario. I get quite attached & with their endearing personalities, they quickly become members of the family, not just part of a flock...so...that being said, I built more coops with sections & added more hens. The bachelor pad coop works well, too. Now building another coop, for more hens, so the bachelors don't have to stay single bachelors. Am I nuts?

Nuts about chickens for sure
I've lucked out with very cool Roos...congenial with me, respectful & sweet with their hens, protective, proactive & vocal at the sight of hawks & foxes, etc. They are all very handsome as well...80% of the pics in my phone are the Roos.
Selling eggs at market & bags of composted, rich manure soil to the city slickers that garden does help justify. Yes, if you happen to love time with the flock, gardening & manure composting, it's actually functional & lucrative...gotta show a 'logical' reason to the non chicken loving folks.
Good luck with your decision. I don't regret keeping mine at all.

I'm doing what I love & they make me smile & laugh more than any people do.
