How many Roosters?

I have 4 hens and want another one, hopefully a seabright, but i only have one rooster. Now that we keep them as pets we would like to start raising and selling some chicks. How many roosters do i need to have fertilized eggs for all the hens? If you could help me I don't know much about this kind of thing. They are bantams.

One is plenty with those hens!!!! NO MORE..........if you add anymore the hens will get over bred and loose feathers on their backs and look a mess........also its not nice for them to be pestered by the roosters all the time. One if fine, and he will learn to be a gentleman with his hens, and also help protect them form danger.

The guidelines I hear most often is one rooster for every 8-10 hens.

Thanks I was a little weary on whether to get another or not. He is learning to protect hens already, just a few days ago a chicken hawk few by while they were roaming and he stayed back while his hens ran under the deck.

We have 3 roos and 9 hens. We keep a 1 / 2 for ours
