How many wine makers do we have here?

Sorry but I don't.

Have you started making anything yet?

I prefer sweet wine as well.
I haven't yet. Been trying to gather supplies and such. But life keeps conspiring against me, w/ family and personal sickness (and hospitalizations) , and flooding my car being carless for a while, replacing it. Several other things going on, but I am making some progress, and have the cherries picked and in the freezer, ready to go as soon as my ducks are in a row, or at least in the same room. lol

I took a few pics of the watermelon wine.

This is a pic 24 hours after putting in the yeast.

This is a pic after stirring it for about a minute. Oh what bubbles.

The recipe says that I have to stir it for 7 Days. This will be a long process.

I have made watermellon wine (most mellons too) but I never had to stir it past a couple of days. I did strain it after about 4-5 days; I found it a little bitter if I left it on the must too long. I'm curious to see how yours turns out.

You are right about stirring it too long. I did 2 days of stirring and that's it. It's in the final process now . We'll see what happens soon.

Forgot to say that I started some Japanese plum wine yesterday? Anyone else ever try this kind? If so, how did it taste?

Yup, one of my favourites, and my relatives all like it too. We made ours almost dry (just a hint of sweetness) and it was good with either main course or desert. Best off all, it was just as tasty and cheaper than buying plum wine!

Good to hear about the watermelon.

Hey Kuntrygirl, looks like it's just us two now. Wonder where everyone went. Perhaps they just got fed up with winemaking.

I tried some ginger beer (wine really) and finally got some fizz in it. Low alcohol but great for mixed drinks.
