How many wine makers do we have here?

Hope I didn't scare everyone away - not that there are many who visit this site, but still . . .!

Pear/cranberry wine is fabulous; trying to save some for Thanksgiving. Hope everyone else's wine is turning out great too.

oooooh cranberry sounds great!!!!
and you can buy fresh cranberries really cheap around the Holidays.

No you did not scare me, just been busy putting in fall garden ,working on the boat and cleaning coop and etc.
Is your Pear/Cranberry recipe on here? Like to try it .
Hmm, have to go and find it - I usually just go by past experience, 3 pound of pears per gallon of water, sugar to 25 brix and toss in some cranberries for colour, usually about a 2-3 bags per five gallon bucket. It gives a lovely rose colour and the cranberries give the pears a little bit of bite - it's really good.

I'm sorry to hear that. For a while I was having a problem, so I started to mix my wine with Perrier. Then I bought a soda Stream and nearly always mix my wine half and half. Makes it a lot easier to digest and I'm getting used to it. Try it, may work for you too.

I'll try it and see. I haven't had a flare in years, I know it is the wine it is the only thing that is different in my diet.

I may not make wine but I like to drink it. :) Is it very hard to make? Do you have to have actual oak barrels to put it in to age? I know I have been watching too many movies but I saw the movie "Bottle shock" and have wanted to make wine ever since.

Haha me too!
No, they sell wine kits with a big carboy thing you age it in.
Everyone on here says it is quite easy to make.
Unfortunately, my 3 attempts were disastrous!!! Completely undrinkable haha.
You need a lot of chemical type things, but they can be bought online.
I bought the whole kits off amazon that already had started must and I still messed my wine up!

BUT there is a lot of awesome info on this thread about how to make wine. I think I will have to give it another attempt here soon...
