Good job!

My 10 gallons of muscadine is coming along great !!!!!!!!! I started 5 gallons of grape a few weeks ago. I scored 10 gallons of satsumas and I will start that tonight. I hope to pick up some free persimmons this week and I will be starting that as well. Everything going very well on my end.

Just started my first batch of cider!! I'm trying out two different yeasts, an ale and a lager. Going for a long, cool ferment. I haven't done any fermenting beyond making vinegar in my warm pantry (keeping the cider far away, at the other end of the house).

I'm using glass milk bottles because that's what I have on hand...luckily the bungs I ordered fit perfectly. The closest homebrew store is either 2 hours away in Nashville or 2.5 hours away in Louisville. You'd think there would be one closer, what with this county's long held tradition of bootlegging in mind. Hmm, maybe I'll open one...

Not a wine maker here, not even much of a wine drinker, but a friend may have converted me. He found a simple recipe for wine online and decided to try it out. He is hooked and talking about gathering gadgets. I should probably mention that he is a chemist. His first attempt was rose petal wine and it was so good! But the recipe only made 3 1/2 bottles, so he can't share (he is saving the last two for christmas dinner).

Had some friends over on Sunday and we tasted the two wines just ready to bottle. The first a Pear/Cranberry, totally dry and very nice. Will go well with Thanksgiving dinner. The second, a rhubarb/strawberry, semi sweet and really nice. Both were liked but my friends preferred the slightly sweeter one. Not me, I like dry. Both are blush wines, and will be bottle this weekend.

Just stumbled upon this thread - and sure am glad I did. Home winemaker from the sierra foothills of California here. Small vineyard (couple hundred vines) growing mostly Syrah and Marsanne. Also buy Viognier and Mourvedre from a vineyard south of here. Sometime maker of pear wine from our Bosc pear tree - and wanna be cider maker.

Chickens and home vineyards are a great match - as long as one nets the vines!

Got my blueberry out of the ferment bucket to the carboy. Every thing looks good ,airlock working. Three days later no more bubbles in the airlock. Is there something wrong?
