roos to hens.I have 2 3x3x3 pens in 1 I have 2 roos and 5 hens,the other has 2 roos and 6 hens or would one roo each be ok.

I found a scientific article about this somewhere where they tested fertility etc of coturnix with different sized harems. Agree with JJMR, the article and I both find about 4 hens is right. It does depend a bit on the size of the roo and his general randiness. The more hens you can get away with giving your roo the better it is for the hens (and the roo no doubt lol) because they will get less beaten up by the roo. The scientists tested up to 8 hens per roo and they were still fertilizing eggs but the optimum was about 4 hens.
