hard boiled eggs that is, would you give to 24 chicks that are 1 week old?
this would be their 1st treat. or should i hold off another week?

I agree, I think it's too early to give food other that chick starter to any chick under 4 weeks old, you'll run into the chick grit problem.

Where can I read more on chick grit problem?
In the kids story book we've read the chicks were given hard boiled eggs around day 2 and a friend of mine who had experience with chicks long time ago (they did not have any chick starters back then) said they were feeding chicks the boiled eggs and scallions, so I was thinking hard boiled eggs is an early food

I'm pretty new at this too. My 3 week olds have had a couple treats but they also have grit (well sand actually). I *thought* hard boiled eggs were one of the treats (along with yogurt) that they didn't have to have grit for?
