How much are you paying for layer pellets?

Holy cow, Al! I live here in Norman, Ok and I'm paying $11.50 a bag for Layena Pellets!! Where are you buying this gold from? (

I'm not sure which brand it is, but my feed is 16% layer pellets which I get for 12.95 per 50#. It costs a bit more that it would in the lower states, but a lot less than it does in Dillingham! Yikes! Luckily, I live near anchorage ... Those prices out in the bush are scary!

Holy Cow! My sister lives in Nikiski, not sure what she feeds hers but I do know they sometimes get dog kibble when she runs out. They also get a lot of scraps.

probablynot half as much as i do, on the west coast of alaska we get a LOT of price inflation because of barge fees etc. in the winter the barges don't come in and we're suck with whatever we have.

some places DO offer a bulk deal. we feed our chickens tons of different stuff. we save almost all of our table scraps for them so the feed lasts a lot longer. they will usually choose whatever leftovers we give them over the feed. Nikiski, ey? she likely gets hers from Alaska mill & feed!

I pay $14 for 50 lbs. With these tiny chickens I might only go through 1 bag every other month if that.
