So far this year I have spent close to $600.00 on shipped eggs. The most I spent on 1 batch of eggs was a $100.00:he

I am at around $60. However, as I am acquiring more space, that number will go up steeply next year. I have a massive wish list!

$75 + $75 + 30 + 32 + 20 + ..... oh who knows... probably about $350 - $400. Wheaton marans and Welsummers are expensive, and I've dabbled with ducks too. Should have started incubating with cheap eggs but I didn't.

That is alot of money to spend on eggs. I ve been holding out on buying shipped eggs. I 'm afraid none of them will hatch. Has your hatch rate been good?

$20 (shipping on a trade) + $27 + $10 plus one gift package of eggs = $57

I got 5 chicks out of the whole deal. Something like 45 eggs. I am not doing it again. I currently have 11 duck eggs my uncle brough from a hatchery. We will see if they do better.

I think that we've had to buy eggs just twice since the girls started laying. So... maybe $4?

Oh wait, you meant the hatching kind. $0. But, like loverOFchickens, I did buy hatchery chicks to the tune of about $40.

The most expensive was $117.00, which out of 18 six hatched. Then 42, 38, 12, and 30. So somewhere around $240.00. OOpppsss forgot another 20 and $60.00 on pea hen eggs which none hatched! So that is about $300.00 and so now I need to get off here before my husband sees this.
