How much chick feed?

I just found out that I can order 6 chicks from my local hatchery and pick them up. These will be my first chickens. I was wondering how much chick feed will I need to get? I would rather get what I will need at once, and not run out.

I don't know how much they will eat till they are ready for layer pellets but I would say get a 50 Lb bag for starters. I do know that you will need more then that though

The might eat more than a 50 on the way to adulthood, but freshness is important too.
