Last summer I had a chick get stomped out of it's egg by two newly hatched chicks. The next day it developed a spraddled leg and I had to put it into a hobble for 3 days. I have always wondered if it was because of the way it hatched.
I am hatching in cartons for the first time. I had them laying on their side with a slight tilt keeping the large end up. Then Wed evening I put them in cartons with the bottoms cut out. I am hoping for the best.
