So I started about 12 days ago with incubating and about 5 weeks ago with chicks and the thought of incubating. At the time I thought $49 was a lot to spend on a LG and that $49 for the egg turner was over kill. As the weeks have past....The cost keeps going up. So far I have invested roughly $588+ in incubator, Thermometers, flashlights, eggs and books and I am on week two!!!!

I started with three chickens at $24 then 3 more at $9 rooster was FREE. I decided that I wanted to start incubating so I made a homemade one that has run me around $35 or so and I might have to put more into it with the thermostat might not be going out already. That is not counting the month feed bill.

I won't even go there on how much

Lets just say too much but I love my hobby so that's all that matters to me.

week 3 about 375 but whos counting i have chickens to entertain me and eggs to feed me im about to cancel my cable cause i watch my animals more than tv the real question is not how much on incubators its how addicting it is to start buying more and more chickens so you have eggs to incubate

my first 2 bators were home built probably 30 for both then I upgraded them with electronic t-stats at 55 each and then bought a used hova for $20 added a computer power supply fan 2 for $3 I had the power converters laying around I have bought 2 egg turners the last 2 years one was used $15 for that one and like 42 for the new one
