Agree! My (lrg breed) dogs are on Rx feed, too. It’s about 150-200/ month, but it beats paying $100 office visit plus meds for ear and skin infection every two months. I figure I’m saving money on vet bills.

Me too! Food allergies, other issues, and down to only one old cat with renal failure. And good food pays off!

The prices surprised me! Our organic is around $32-42, soy free is around $24, and the basic purina layer is $15 all 25lbs, and I think the cheapest is the Countryside brand layer running around 15 for a 50lb bag. Its crazy how expensive feed is getting!

If I buy from TSC I only get the damaged bags. for about, between $10 - $18 per 50/40lb bag

I've done this too, with the idea I was getting a deal.
Then, last time I was in, I noticed a torn and taped bag on the shelf, so I took it up front to let them know and ask how much. They stuck it on the scale right behind the register and used a calculator to price it based on how much was missing
So not a deal after all. Instead, it seems I've just been taking chances on open bags falling apart for the store's convenience

Our feed store will gladly take 20% off the price of any bag that has had 30% or more of the feed go missing.
If it's just ripped or a smaller amount gone it's tape and full price.

Seems awesome, right? But 20% off a 30% empty bag isn't a deal, is it?
The price per pound stays the same at my feed store. It sounds like it gets worse at yours.
