How much do you sell your baby chicks for?

If they're not pure, they're pretty darned close. They look like hatchery or backyard quality to me - a good start if you want to start breeding up (or in this case, down) with them. The real clue that you have Nannies is in the baby pics. The smooth yellow fuzzies with the black Morse code on their heads is all Nanny!
I wish you were closer to Maryland! I have a beautiful single comb rooster (the only one in our rose-comb flock) who would throw some gorgeous color on your girls!
I already have a single comb rooster who is pretty close to breed standard (I think). Maybe next spring I will try breeding them, and if I still don't have any room in my coop by then I can always sell them or give them away. I would love to see some pictures of your best Nankins so that I can have a better idea of what breed standard Nankins should look like. I hope you don't mind me asking for pictures.

I can do that! DD comes home from 4H camp this weekend. One of the things on the agenda is going over everybody to figure out our final list for the State Fair. We should be able to get some good shots, then. Last year's County BIS rose comb is a great example, but he's been in the breeding pen this summer, so he's looking a bit rough. But hey, he's a happy boy! :D
