How much does your chicks cost at the feed store or TSC

Cackle Hatchery only charges $15 shipping and I think that is for 15 to 50 chicks. Cackle Hatchery is the first place I look if I am looking for chicks. They are the only ones I have ordered from that I have never had a chick die.

I went to TSC yesterday and saw the cutest chicks ever!!!!!! The prices were $1.89 for Straight run.

I wish that I could've gotten 2 RIR and a cochin or 2. But I didn't have a a broody hen. I can't raise chicks in the house unless I want them in my room peeping all night long and keeping me awake. Besides I don't have enough money to buy a heat lamp which costs $12.95.

Boy am I hoping that 1 of my hens go broody within the next few days 'cause the TSC only carries the chicks through till this friday.

I haven't had any baby chicks since mid August. Ever since all my pullets were just babies.

I miss hearing Baby chicks and their moms clucking and peeping.

Yes $0 for hatching eggs. Is there a problem? I have eggs out the butt, so why charge. They are only cross breeds, but they are gorgoeus and some look like pure breds. Funny how that ends up. My Langshan and Cherry Egger put out a chick that looks like a pure Langshan, my Ameraucana babies look just like an Ameraucana and so on. They all lay great, and 98 out of 100 eggs hatch, so I have no complaint. Pure bred or Mutt, they are still chickens, still lay eggs and they even taste like and look like chicken.

I checked with Privett and it was $30 for shipping, and were in the same state. With McMurray it was only $13.25 to ship but I would have had to order more than I wanted for more than what the feed store was selling them for. I'll have to look up Cackle hatchery, I'm out of room but I can still look.

I paid $2.25 for the RIR's $2.75 for the EE's and I was told the marans, dominiques, and lakenvelders would be about $3.00 when they finally get here.

at my more commercial feed store they have a ton of choices and are $3.95 for pullets, $2.95 for st. run I think. At the local feed store (which is a lot closer and more friendly) they are cheaper, but they have much fewer breeds.

Some of the farm stores will sell them at their cost in order to get you to buy the feed...or buy the feed and get a free chick. Overall, the food is where they plan to make the money...and we all know how much they eventually eat

provided they are not being raised for meat.

its not just the food they want you to buy it can cost just as much for the waterer and feeder and bedding and all the other neccesities i know how that works lol
