How much feed do 3 chicks eat???

Thanks so much for the advice! My parents raised chickens before when I was growing up but info like this was never available to them so my mom was kind of confused.

If it makes you feel any better I have (17) 4 and 5 week old chicks and they are eating 5lbs every 3 days. The Manna Pro chick starter my chicks are doing well on, only comes in 5lb bags so I have to buy it that way. I just ordered a 50lb bag of organic starter so I'm hoping that goes a bit further. I have some of the chicks up for sale so that too should lower the food bill a bit.

My chicks just eat and eat too oh and lets not forget poop poop poop

My 3 chicks (about two and a half months old) eat So Much!!! I quit exhausting myself making sure the feeder is always full and just fill it once a day; it holds about one and a half cups. The girls are healthy, active, and curious, so I think they are probably ok. Some days it's completely empty and other days a bit is left. I just scatter it in the run for them to snack on later. They seem happy, am I making a mistake?
