How much feed?

Hey every one. Just wanted to get a feel as to what others do about feeding their birds. I will put just enough feed to last my birds (chickens) for 2 days. I'm not sure how long it would stay fresh open to the air in the feeder. Any one have an opinion?

I fill a 30 lb. feeder about 2/3s of the way full and refill as necessary; usually every 3 to 4 days. My chickens free range for a good portion of their food.

I was concerned that the nutrients would get depleted if I left too much in the feeder for too long of a period.

I have a 30 gal feeder also that I re-fill once a week. I've had no problems with the feed. Its inside the coop.

We have 33 chickens, 1 7lb container that we fill 1-2 times per day. Our chickens are 19 weeks old.
