Is it not good to keep a food source available? I have 9 chickens and I feed them two scoops in the morning and two in the afternoon. But I also let my chickens free roam so they eat a lot of plants and bugs. I started at first with always keeping the feeder full of food, but I noticed they graze much less for plants and bugs.
