How much for eggs?

I just raised my price to $2.50 a dozen for chicken eggs and $4 for duck eggs.
The prices in the grocery store have risen hugely. One of the Organic brands with a red label (can't think of it) was $5.69 a dozen! The cage free (a laugh there...the label says "vegetarian fed", which means controlled indoor climate) brand was $3 and change.

I don't have the overhead, middleman and such, so I can charge way less than the grocery store.

i am with whoever else has said that around here affordable is more important than free range, etc. mine have more value as trades with neighbors than they ever would on the open market.

oh yeah, they love the eggs. i hard boil them up for them, especially the ones that are within a week or so of going bad (i don't want to sell those and ruin my reputation for great eggs! ) i had read here on BYC how much chickies love hard boiled or scrambled eggs. i was kind of iffy about doing it, but with the response i got from my girls, i figure what the heck. they LOVED them. and supposedly the protein is good for them.

I sell mine for $1.50 a dz at my work, but my husband sells them at his work for $2.00 a dz. I plan on raising my prices since feed just went up at the feed mill. I'll probably start selling them for $2 a dz. starting the new year.

You mean Egg Pimp?

I have a friend who pimps my eggs. She buys them from me at my price and makes her friends pay her $1 more in the city. It works all the way around.
