My chicks are 9 weeks old, and I have been just sprinkling grit on top of their food daily. Is this the right way to give grit? Should I be measuring it out, or putting it in a separate container from their food?

Do they have access to the dirt? Can they dust bathe or peck at the ground? If so, they probably don't need any grit---but it sounds like you have things in hand.

Yeah...if they have dirt and small rocks, they don't need any extra. My week old chicks just naturally eat dirt and small rocks

They're scratchin' dust batheing and trying to fly...trying out their growing wings...just like big chickens only they're so adorable and tiny still!
