Mine use to run around $400, then we had insulation blown into the attic and it was $200 last month. My house is about 1900 sq ft, plus my husband has his garage running non-stop.

I just moved from WY to ND and our electricity bill here was $139 last month even though the house was empty 3/4 of the month and it was $135 this month with 4 people using the electric water heater, stove, lights etc... I am not sure but this is a really small rural community and I think that they might just be guessing and sending a bill

We will see next month when we add the bator lights and the a/c to the mix.

How many of you have levelized payments? That would help out alot!

With a 1000 sq foot house, our levelized payments would be $125.oo but our electric bill can average from 49 to 200 a month, summer and winter months.

lol well since i live alone it's easy, if i'm not in a room no lights are on lol

At our home, it is just DH and I and like you, Grundail01, we live in a dry climate and use a swamp cooler. It adds much needed humidity and WAY cheaper than A/C. Our power bill in the heat of summer is usually ~$50-60, but with the credit we receive for allowing the power company to shut off our AC for up to 6 hrs (yes, they are well aware that we use a swamp cooler), our power bill is usually between $20 - $40.

Now our winter bill with heating....~$70 - $90.

I should add that our house is only 1,340 sq ft and single story, so that helps a lot!

We have a 2600 sq ft house and ours was 220 this month. It was a little higher than normal because I have five heat lamps going right now.

1 for the ducklings
1 for the two older goslings
1 for the younger goslings
2 for chicks ( and two one week old goslings)

Electricity , I run about $55 per month. Maybe double that in Dec & Jan. Dang Christmas lights. Lol!

If you throw in the gas heat and hot water add another $70 per month.

So total utilities are about $70 in the summer and $240 i the winter.

No AC here. Course it is Seattle, would only need it a few days a year.

BTW- Imp is very wasteful with his electricity. I get a letter every month from Puget Sound Energy that I am a BAD imp compared to my neighboring imps.

In the hottest part of the summer, probably $200-225. I just got ours last week and it was $97. Haven't had the a/c on yet this year. There have been a few days hot enough to have it on but I've just made everyone deal with it so far with fans and open windows.

It's been about $185/mo for the last few months and I expect it to stay about that for the summer. The AC is very efficient.

In the winter it got up to $300+ but it was the coldest winter we've had in 10 years and I know our heat pump is inefficient. That amount does not include the amount we spent on wood for the woodstove, either.

Its pretty bad out here in Ca- maybe because we just refuse to be uncomfortable. (comfort is a personal opinion only here) Our bill in the winter averages 300 and the summer is usually between 600 and 800 bucks. No, our house isnt huge, but we like it to be about 71 to 73 in the house all year. I think it has alot to do with the A/C being really old and not energy efficient. We're getting it replaced soon, thank God!

When we first moved here we were in the mid 90s for the bill now 10 yrs later we are getting close to the $200 mark. We keep fans going and set outside tell the end of June or first of July. Our 1 high bill last yr was $190 it was in August. Threw the winter the bill is around the $80
