How much panting is normal?

It's hot (90) and dry in RI right now, and my pullets are wandering around the yard foraging. But every time I look at them they seem to be panting. There's water in the coop and I have a tray of water near me, but they're not going for either.
Is some panting normal? They don't seem listless, and they just destroyed a frozen corn cob.

They will stop eating when they get really hot. Panting will continue. What I watch out for is birds loosing situation awareness. Temperature here is just over 100 with high relative humidity. The birds with option are all in shade where they are also exposed to airflow. They are investing very little effort in feeding as they pant and spread wings to dump heat. They will start feeding in earnest about 2 hours before dark.
