how much protein is neccasary for an 8 week old chick

i just started raising chickens about 2 weeks ago and i wanted to know how much protein an 8 week old chicken needed. and also if there are any other helpful tips you can give me like whats the best food to give them or something please let me know. thanks alot

You should be feeding them chick starter until 8 weeksish. Then you can give them grower until they start laying. The feeds will have the appropriate amount of protien for their age.

the feed im using now has 14% protein but i read on one website that 8 week-17 week old chicks need 16% would that effect their growth? and also what would you recommend is the best food for their age?

Low protein Starter feed is rarely available. Chicks need 20% feed for optimum growth. Good feed has that amount. Cheap feed might not.
