How much should I be feeding 3 week old chicks

I gave mine mealworms for chicks (they are just smaller) at just a few days old and they loved them and it did not hurt them at all. I also provided chick grit and they ate a little of it. Again, chick grit is just smaller than normal.. If they do not need it they will not eat it.
Edited to say that you do not want to give them a lot of them chick mealworms. Just a little for a treat. Keep the chick starter feed available at all times.

Some start offering grit to help break down any bedding they may eat. If you sprinkle it on the floor, it'll be fine. If you offer it in a dish, just keep an eye on it for the first couple days to make sure they are not filling up on grit. To the first question, offer as much as they want. They only NEED a good starter feed. If you want to give them a "treat", you can mix the starter with water, to make an oatmeal-like dish. Mine always act like it's a brand new food

Chicks should have free access to however much food (chick starter) they want to eat. They grow so fast!
I start adding chick sized grit at about two weeks of age, sprinkle a little over their food like a spice.
The will pick up bits of dirt and such on their own when allowed outside.
I do not give my chicks any treats until they are about 6 weeks. They do get some plain scrambled eggs a few times a week as a treat. 😊

What kind of hanging treat?
Don't give them treats now, please. Treats take away from them getting a complete balanced diet (the chick starter feed) that they NEED.

Treats are like giving them candy and chips daily...it's just now a good habit to start.
ok thank you so much I saw it was for "chicks" so I was like sure why not but out it comes

I had a feeder that I always filled. for taming, in the morning when I went to fill food, I gave them some out of my hand first. They had seperate container for grit at about 5 weeks of age, and they didn't abuse their newfound grit powers. They barley even ate it, really. Just pecked at it every once in awhile
Yes, I agree with the feeding out of your hand. I would do that and still do that a little now. Especially the treats.

Please send some time reading in the emergency section... They close attention to all of the egg laying type emergencies.
