I Have a Serama hen, and she-

So to cut a long story short, my Serama lays ALL THE TIME?!
That was overly dramatic. Sorry.

I know that Seramas are supposed to lay tiny eggs 3 times a week or so. But my Serama hen lays big eggs (big for a serama) almost every day. And she's really tiny too.

The reason I'm puzzled is because her eggs are just a little smaller than 1/2 a normal hens egg, not 1/5 the size?! The breeder I got her from showed me his hens eggs and they were a LOT smaller....

And the last serama hen I had barely EVER laid.
This isn't a problem, I'm proud of her, I was just wondering.

By the way, strangely also, she was over 8 months old before she started to lay.

Actually her egg size is normal, if it was any smaller the hatching chick has 70% mortality rate. And you know I hatched out some Serama chicks recently. The eggs I got from a lady were variable sizes and there were 18 eggs. The ones that hatched out were the size in your picture although I did have one tiny egg that hatched. The rest were quitters and infertile.

By the way what a great looking rooster you have. :thumbsup Remember if you see him mating her make sure he doesn't hurt her.

Take some profile pictures of your rooster I want to see his feathers. Since he's small put him on something high to make picture taking easier.

Will do!

Well yes, if your looking for a particular pattern and coloring.

I'm not an expert Serama breeder at all, and I know they are hard to breed from. But the hen lays, as I said, all the time, and she'd make a good mamma I think. But having seen pictures, what would the offspring be like?
