How much starter feed is too much?

I think I'll start them on scrambled eggs (occassionally) and see how that goes. When I do start giving them fresh veggies and fruits should i run them through the food processor to chop them up really fine til they get a little older?

Hi everyone..... just checking in with you to get a little reassurance that my little ones are growing properly. They are approx 2 wks 3 days old now (i was WAY off guessing their age previously) . Their feathers are kind of disheveled looking..not really laying down smooth, is that normal? TSC said these were ISA Browns, which from what I'm reading could be several other names LOL . This one LOVES for me to scratch her chest and will literally walk to my hand and push her chest on my fingers. They are still on Medicated Chic Starter Feed but I ran low this morning and gave them 3/4 of Medicated and 1/4 Non-medicated Starter Feed. I hope that was fine to do? We put a bowl of ChicGrit in their pen and they dust themselves and eat it. They'll play with mealworms more than eat them (although they eventually get around to eating them). Other than that we haven't given them anything else. Oh we did try a tiny bit of lettuce... gave 2 of them diarrhea the next day so I haven't given them anymore of that and diarrhea cleared up. May have been a coincidence but now I'm leary to give other "treats". :(

Yes, they look perfectly normal. They will look unkempt while feathering in. Some of them will likely have random bald patches and feathers sticking out in odd places. This is all perfectly normal.

Oh thank you, that makes me feel better. I noticed the small bald patches too when i was petting a few of them. I thought they may have been getting pecked by one of the others, but good to hear it's just the normal feathering process. I've only had these babies for a couple of weeks but watching them grow every day is starting to be an obsession of mine. Thank you again!

Thanks speedy2020, we were told they were Isa Browns. I had a little surprise this morning from them as when i went to check on them 2 of the darlings were on top of their pen!! OMG! I put a screen over the top of it so hopefully they will still get plenty of air circulation, heat and be more secure now. I couldn't help but laugh when they all had that look of ..... "Oh no! We're busted"!
