I was just curious, everybody has given me different times.

I let my chickens out to range at around 9 am, and spend about an hour with them.
Usually I go in the afternoon and spend around 30 mins with them.
I go out in the evening at around 5 or 6 pm, and spend about about an hour or two with them again.

I usually give them their favorite treats, or anything else that will make them trust me more.

So just for fun, how much do time do you spend with your chickens? And do you do anything to bond with them more closely?

Time varies for me depending on time of year and weather. I'm generally home all day and go out multiple times during the day. I also watch them out my windows a lot, so my simple answer is probably half my day is spent on chickens in some way or another.

Sounds great! My family and I watch them out our windows all day too, because we have had problems with coyotes.

Once I start watching them, the entertainment is endless! :)

I spend a lot of time with them when I am off work - hubby checks on them in the morning and I get home around 2, so I spend time cleaning and feeding, and lots of Time just sit and watch them, I like to see how they interact with each other. They are always waiting at the gate for me. Mine do not free range they have large out door runs and large coop for bad weather days.

It probably averages out to the lower end of half an hour. They just don't need that much attention most of the time. I like to go hang out with them, so they stay comfortable around me.

If we're counting time spent watching them, then the average is higher.

That's great! You can often get more entertainment from watching your chickens for a few minutes than you can from watching TV!
