How much to add to cost?

Maybe I should just do it for chick/feed costs. I will most likely be rewarded down the road. I've known him for a long time and he is a good person. I guess I've got some more thinking about to do.

Kudos to you! Sounds like you have a great neighbor so I think selling cheap will be well worth the rewards you have already gotten and will prob continue to get. Remember...the happier he is with your decision the more he will continue to do for you as well

It's great to have neighbors that do this

I have the same arrangement as you are looking at doing. The people that sign up stay for the whole processing if they are getting 10 or they are getting 20 birds. The cost includes: chicks, feed and bedding. I figure it is just as easy to take care of 40 birds as it is 150 so my time to me is not figured in. Processing day is actually fun (misery loves company). Good conversation, friendly ribbing and it goes faster with help. We have people on the waiting list who want to join but I don't have enough birds to go around. I know my limits due to my coop size so until someone bows out the guest list is limited. I also have found that the final price that I give them is less than the money I have received in most cases. Good luck.

So what you are saying here is that your "people" take it upon themselves to pay you for you time/equipment, even if you are not including this in your price.

Maybe you should have a coop building party & include that in the price one year so you can do more birds.
