how much to butcher a hog?

We just had 4 butchered a few months ago. We paid $10 kill fee plus .40 a lb to the butcher. I sold 2 1/2 at $2.00 a lb. I kept 1 1/2 for us. I lost money on this and will probably not raise anymore myself. I will buy one ready to go next time.

I take mine to an amish family...we have a large Amish communityy here and they charge $125.00 per hog...we are really lucky1

Last year we paid the butcher $167 for approx a 300pd hog, to kill/cut/package it.
