Hi all,
I'm going to a small animal swap meet this spring to sell some of my backyard bred chicks and pullets...and probably going to bring everything I've got that isn't a part of my core flock. I was wondering how much you all recommend I sell them for? I've never sold chickens before but I've bought some. However, everything I've purchased has been full breed. I'll probably have 18-24 chicks and somewhere around 10 pullets (all mixed breed).

I'm also going to have a few Wels, Spitzhauben and golden laced Polish - ideas on pricing for those appreciated as well.

Thanks so much!!

can you get some pics
Hi, thank you for the reply. I am posting pics but the chicks I have now will look different in May when I sell them as pullets, so not sure how it will help, but if it does here you are!

I have another batch set in the bator now so I'm not sure how they will turn out but they are from the same chickens... Enjoy the pics!

thanks. if you want to sell them do it when at point of lay pullets you will get the most money from them then. but the cockrels you may not be able to sell because not a lot of people want them. the price depends on your judgment but get a pic of them when 9-12 weeks old.

Pricing kinda depends on your area and the demand. Here in NW MO, crossbred barnyard chicks are worth about 50 cents to 1 dollar.

That makes sense. I've been kind of looking around at other peoples chicks and we have a very active chicken community in my area. I was able to sell week old BY chicks for 3.00 each. I'm thinking in May when these guys are 12 weeks I will sell the pullets for $15 each. I'm thinking of selecting the eggs from my barred and laced hens for hatching for the swap in May and selling them. Not sure yet, but these guys will hopefully be off heat by then so easier to sell? It's my first season doing this so it's kind of trial by fire I suppose.
