I have 8 chickens, almost 5 months old and just recently got a 3 gallon waterer. How many days should this last them? Thanks!

Wow!! How many chickens do you have? Mine normally go through a full gallon waterer every two days..In the warm temps mine go through 5gal a day. In the cooler temps they might get by with the 5 gal every other day.
I’d definitely fill it and check the level daily. I would let it go more than 2 days without refilling it.
I've cheated, got one of those doggie water bowls that are auto fill, short of losing power, (we're water haul, need power for the pump) they always have water.. clean the bowl of dirt and sand and they are set.I have 8 chickens, almost 5 months old and just recently got a 3 gallon waterer. it varies by the coop. The one has about 10 right now and that’s the one with the 5gal waterer. My bantam coop has more birds but they go through 2 gallons a day.Wow!! How many chickens do you have? Mine normally go through a full gallon waterer every two days..

How much they drink depends on many things.
Here is a table I found to be pretty accurate:
- Size
- Age
- Temperature
- Health status
- Laying status
My bad@casportpony you forgot the table I think.
