How noisey are they?

Guineas can be pretty noisy anytime they want to be. It doesn't bother me but I can see how it could drive others crazy. Guineas are a blast! Pea fowl are pretty quiet except for the breeding season. They can be really noisy all day and night!

Mine make the same amount of noise all year round. And yes they can be loud but I don't mind the noise and we live on a large farm and don't have any neighbors. But breeding season or not mine make the same amount of noise.

I need to take a video of when the UPS guy pulls in with a delivery (with audio of course, lol)

I have 125 Guineas, at least 75 of which are Hens... so there's a lotta buck-wheating all day starting about 5:30 am (time to get up anyway), but when that UPS truck pulls in the driveway there's an alarm calling and buck-wheating uproar that continues until they feel satisfied they have chased him out the driveway gates and up the hill, lol. Defintely good watch dogs

I don't mind the noise (could care less if my neighbors do or not, but if they wanna pay my mortgage and property taxes then I might care, lol). To me Guineas are just background noise. My 20 goats and donkey are louder anyway!

They are super loud and noisey, I don't guess you can judge the amount of noise from responses from a forum, but if you get a few you will soon find what decibal level you and your nieghbors can handle, but they are very noisey and I personaly would rather hear fingernails scratching on a chalkboard than to listen to Guinea's.

that's the best description of the sounds I've heard!

ours are loud, Ithink the volume is comparable to our rooster, and I'd say we hear them more frequently.
the peacocks... we had neighbors almost 2 miles away with them and we could clearly hear them when we were outside... might depend on your local geography and the natural sound breaks.

Depends on your level of noise tollerance I guess, to me a chain saw is loud a trail bike is loud but guinea fowl are not I must be imune to the noise

THEY ARE VERY LOUD WE HAVE 15 AND MAKE A LOT OF NOISE SO FAR (all caps so you can hear me over the guineas)

We do love them, and they are staying, but I have to admit we were not quite prepared for the noise level even with all the warnings.

We got our guineas this past June so they are almost 7 months old now. We have 15 and they are free range, however, I use that term loosely because so far they will not leave our immediate yard. They come running to us every time they see us and follow us around the yard begging for handouts. Regarding how loud they are....in my case, I could take how loud I thought they were going to be and multiply it by 10 and *maybe* get close to how loud they really are.

And ours are that loud all the time except while they are roosting. But we like them anyway. They are funny birds and I've read that they might get quieter when they get to be over 1 year old. The females are much louder and much more talkative than the males (imagine that!

). But don't think you're going to talk on your cell phone while you're in the yard because you can't hear over their constant noise.
