how often do they need grit?

    do they need it every day? and do they need it as soon as they are born? I plan on bringing them outside for play time but perhaps not every day... will this be a sufficient amount of grit for them or do I need to give them some?

    If you feed anything other than commercial feed, they will need the grit available to them. We just put sprinkled some on any treat we gave the young chicks. As they aged, we moved the grit to its own separate dish. The flock will eat it when they need it.
