How often do you candle?

I only do it twice, the first at 11 days & the second at 18 days.

I ain't going anywhere near Jethro or her eggs. I value my hands. I am curious about the bator babies though.

I candle at 7, 14, and right before lockdown.

My first hatch I candled way too much, but had the most successful hatch.

My second hatch I have only 1 out of 10.

My third hatch is hatching right now. I started with 12 at day 14 I threw 1 out because of it not ever developing. I have 5 hatched, but I think 1 might not make it. Also, of my 12, 5 are pullet eggs. Of those pullet eggs I have 1 that hatched and one that has pipped and is resting in the egg... It has been resting for 12 hours now... It is still chirping and moving so I am guessing it is fine.

I have found that the skinnier flashlights with more of a focus point do better in candling!

Hi! I usually candle three times during incubation --- Day 6, Day 12 (give or take a day), and Day 18 .
I candle eggs before I set them also.
