How often do you visit your chickens?

Your not crazy...I like to hang out with my chickens so much that my husband always comments that he wishes he got as much attention as the chickens! haha

I'm off from teaching right now, so I get to visit them each time I let the dogs out...and we all know how that goes. I'm probably out there ten times a day.

My chickens have an enclosed run & coop, so I don't have to let them out or put them in at night, but I do like them to have fresh grass and bugs, so I usually move them outside for a while,so I visit them then. Lately, with the heat they stay out for all of 5 minutes before running back to the coop. The coop/run is in the shade, and generally is 10-15 degrees cooler than out in the yard. They also started to lay this week, so I'm out checking 3 or 4 times a day for eggs. If I have scraps to take them, then I make another visit...it all adds up, doesn't it

I'm a SAHM with a 5 year old, so we go check the chickens every hour or so in the morning to get any eggs, and the afternoon depends on how hot it is. If it's really bad, we go out there often to give them fresh water and ice to sit on or peck at. At night we move their tractor so that they have fresh grass for the morning.

At least half a dozen times, but when I go back to work in a few weeks, I will be limited. I am trying to get them used to being cooped up again because they've been spoiled this summer since I have been off work.

omg! I check them so many times a day it's ridiculous. I go out and sit on a lawn chair and watch them. They jump on my lap. My husband and daughter do the same. Sometimes we go out and sit on our chairs for hours.
I've been checking them several times per day because it's been hot and I go out and cool their water and make sure everyone is getting along because I have some new ones and newly discovered roosters.. lol

Sounds just like my husband, He's said that ever since we got them 7 weeks ago. When they were in the house in the brooder about 3-4 times an hour, now they are out in the coop, I can see it from my kitchen window, so I'm always talking to them and I go out about 2-3 times a day and sit with them, they are so fun to watch

I think my dogs are jelous of the attention they get too​
