HOW OFTEN DO YOU....

Any poultry supply place should have them. I want to order the one that you can place individual cups in the cages, and the water flows when the bird presses down on the cup. Its a low presser system, and you can hook it up to a 5 gallon bucket with a cover. Prevents show birds from bathing in the waterer, keeps spillage to a minimum, and always ensures a fresh drink.

OMG , you right , we will not like what you are telling us. No matter what you think , this water sitting there is not clean after several hours , they need fresh clean water daily .

I have ( 2 ) - 5 gallon plastic containers full of water inside the run area , a 1 gallon water container in my bantam section , and another one in the cage with my broody hen . I also have a 2 gallon container inside the coop and one under the front of the coop .

And ALL of these are cleaned every morning and filled twice a day .

Fresh water filled every day....taken apart and cleaned thoroughly with bleach twice a week...or more if necessary. Since I started hanging the waterers, they don't get nearly as dirty and ACV is ALWAYS added.

When I first got chickens I'd clean and sanitize their water everyday. They free range and prefer dirty ole' mud puddle water over a sparkling clean chicken waterer, so now it's changed every 3-4 days.

If they were all penned up I'd change it at least once a day.

I have 35 chickens with a 3.5 gallon hanging waterer and it gets cleaned and changed every day and a half to 2 days.

If they made a mess out of it, I would change it more often, but I think it really makes a difference with it hanging.
