They'll mellow out once they get used to you and recoginize you as "Mommy" I have 3 polish chicks in the brooder now, they want nothing to do with any of us. (its funny) They run away screaming when we give them fresh food and water, and oh my, pick one up, and they wiggle and chirp! Just keep doing what your doing, and eventually they'll realize you're not going to kill them. Our RIR did'nt want any part of us until after they began laying, now (I do love them..) they border on pesky! Always under foot or right next to me. They just gotta figure it all out.
