how often to collect eggs

How long can eggs sit in the nesting box before they need to be brought in from the coop?

depending on what time of year it is.... but as long as u collect them by the end of the day ur all good

Most people collect at least once a day. If it is hot or cold then you should collect more often.
There are not many things more gross than cracking open an egg to eat and their being a baby chick developing in there.
If I am not sure the egg is at least under 3 days old, (from the nest, not the fridge) I give it to the dog.
After they are refrigerated, they last months.

When I was working I collected the eggs once a day in the late afternoon/early evening. Now that I'm retired I check for eggs several times a day.
